recording room
The air conditioned recording room at Legacy Studio is 1450 square feet in size. The atmospheric room with flexible lighting creates an ideal place for musicians to show the best of themselves.
The acoustics in the room range from warm and solid to sparkling live. Different areas in the recording room have different acoustic properties through the clever use of absorption and reflection. There is a drum podium in the room. Surrounded with diffusers this is the ideal place to record drums with all the ambiance needed to make drums come alive.
Throughout the studio stage boxes are placed. These are patched through the Ghielmatic patch bay in the machine room. From here everything is patched to a vast array of pre-amps. The microphone collection of Legacy Studio is vast: Neumann M49, U47, U47Fet, U67, U87, KM184, AKG C12, C414, RCA 44, 74, 77, Telefunken 421, 441, M221, Sony C37A, C47Fet, etc. etc. And these are all the original vintage versions in perfect shape. This will ensure you get every sound you could possibly be after.
The room is acoustically separated from the outside world. Walls that are up to 20 inch thick will keep all unwelcome sounds on the outside. Two large doors give access to the recording rooms. Even the largest instruments can be brought in the studio straight from the parking lot outside.
From the recording room there's a good view of the control room ensuring good contact with the producer. Monitoring in the recording room is done with a 16 channel AVIOM system. Musicians can make their own mix here. It goes without saying that more traditional monitoring is also possible.
